Jessica Pope

Sales & Marketing

B.F.A., Fibers, SCAD, 2005

Jessica Pope is an artist living and working in Savannah, Georgia.  She operates a small studio in Savannah, Georgia and is the Sales & Marketing Manager of Working Class Studio.  She has always been a maker of things, thanks to her talented mother, grandmothers and great-grandmother who taught her how satisfying it is to create.  She loves to make things for other people and think of the life those things take on when they are cherished by others.  Trained in textiles and printmaking, she often merges the two in her work.  Process in her work has become a meditative activity and she dedicates herself to organizing the chaos of everyday life by filtering it into little orderly objects.

Darra Crosby

Shipping & Receiving, Customer Service Coordinator

M.F.A. Candidate, Fibers, SCAD

Darra’s interest in art and design stemmed from watching her grandfather sharpen his pencil with an exacto knife and then doodle on lined paper.  This experience eventually led her to New York University where she received her undergraduate degree in Studio Art. Undecided about what she wanted to do after college, she took a temporary job as an assistant to prop stylist, Robyn Glaser.  It was here that her love of fabrics, colors and textures began.  Yearning to see the world outside of New York City, Darra left for a six-month sojourn in South East Asia traveling to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia and her favorite country, Nepal.  Inspired by the colors, textures, people and tools she experienced there, she decided to continue her education in textiles.  An article about the Gee’s Bend quilters also fueled this process, as well as her love for synthesizing visual elements of different cultures.
Believing in being an environmentally conscious maker Darra works with natural dyes, organic materials, as well as hemps and recycled fabrics, to make quilts, tote bags and fine art works.
